Clarence “Pappy” Hoel introduced the Black Hills to Indian Motorcycle when he purchased his Sturgis dealership in 1936. Two years later, he and the Jackpine Gypsies motorcycle club founded the greatest motorcycle riding event in the world: the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
